MVA on Waukewan Street

Another MVA sent Meredith personnel at 16:02 to Waukewan Street near Village Drive this afternoon. 14C4 (Haines) reported after arriving on scene that a single vehicle had struck a tree. 14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and the crew began work to secure vehicle power and contain any fluid leaks. They also assisted Stewart's Ambulance with preparing the sole vehicle occupant for transport to Lakes Region General, who suffered minor injury. All companies were back in service by 16:19.

Parade Road MVA
October 17, 2011
For a second time today Meredith companies responded at 17:21 to Parade Road near Forest View Manor For an MVA. 14C1 (Jones) arrived on scene and reported a vehicle off the road into the woods. The vehicle operator was not injured. 14 Engine 1 arrived and checked for fluids and assisted with vehicle removal. Companies were placed in service at 17:52.

Route 104 MVA

A report of a MVA sent Meredith companies to NH Route 104 at the New Hampton town line at 7:49 today. 14C3 (Joslin) arrived on scene and reported two vehicles involved with air bag deployment. Stewarts Ambulance and New Hampton personnel evaluated four patients, all being non-transports. Companies were in service at 8:15.

Kitchen Fire on Main Street

The Meredith Fire Department was alerted at 0:10 to a report of a kitchen fire at 51 Main Street. Companies arrived on scene to find the blaze had self extinguished, but it was apparent it had smoldered for a significant amount of time. The cause was from combustibles placed on an electric stove by a new tenant and had ignited when the power company restored power to the previously vacant apartment. Crews ventilated and opened up walls to check for extension. All companies were placed in service at 0:50

Route 104 Rollover

A busy day continued for Meredith crews as they responded at 14:13 to another motor vehicle accident, this time a rollover. 14C2 (Kloetz) arrived on scene at NH Route 104 and Meredith Center Road and confirmed that a rollover had occurred He then advised 14 Engine 1 that the "Jaws" would be needed when it arrived. Engine 1's crew went to work and completed extrication of the occupant in about 15 minutes. The occupant sustained serious injury and was transported to Lakes Region General Hospital by Stewart's Ambulance. Companies returned to the station at 14:54.

Route 25 MVA

Meredith companies were alerted at 11:52 to respond to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of NH Route 25 and True Road. Companies arrived on scene to find that a pickup truck hauling a boat trailer had struck the rear of a Class A motor home. Moderate damage was incurred by the motor home while the other vehicle was severely damaged. The occupant of the pickup sustained a minor hand injury but refused transport to the hospital. The Engine crew cleaned up debris and secured vehicle power. All Companies cleared the scene at 12:33

Animal Rescue

Meredith companies were called at 12:56 to 21 Ridge Road for an animal rescue. The crew utilized a ground ladder to retrieve a feline that had been unable to make it's way from the top of a tree. The cat was quickly reunited with it's owner. Companies were on scene for approxmately one half hour.
