Mercier Drive Structure Fire

Meredith companies were alerted at 15:58 for a structure fire at 15 Mercier Drive. New Hampton companies also responded automatic aid. 14C1 arrived on the scene and reported heavy smoke showing from the eaves of a single family dwelling. 17 Engine 3 and 14T5 arrived shortly after. The 14T5 crew stretched a hand line from 17 Engine 3 and advanced to the second floor. The fire in a bathroom was quickly knocked down and contained to the room of origin. Companies remained on scene and conducted salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was determined to be from improper use of an electric space heater.
