Laconia companies were toned at 8:29 to 29 Baldwin Street. The reporting party stated there was smoke coming from the roof and an odor of smoke in the building. Gilford and Belmont responded on the still alarm. At 8:33 command reported fire on the third floor with multiple lines in operation and requested a first alarm. The first alarm brings cover trucks into the City. Meredith's 14 Engine 1 was assigned to cover Laconia's Weirs Beach station. At 8:53, command requested a second alarm, which moved 14 Engine 1 to the scene. This also called for 14 Tower 1 to cover Laconia's Central station. 14 Engine 1 personnel assisted with fire suppression and overhaul.
14 Tower 1 responded to four calls while covering Laconia. The first call was to Gilford for an odor of gas in the building. 14 Tower 1 assisted Stewarts Ambulance for a subject that had been injured in a fall, a subject locked in a bathroom, and also responded to a motor vehicle accident in the City.
