Meredith crews were alerted at 16:44 for building fire at Meredith Marina, which is located at 2 Bayshore Drive. As 14C1 (Jones) approached the scene, he called for a first alarm reporting heavy smoke and fire from the building. upon arrival, 14C1 advised that the 50' x 50' building was fully involved. 14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and began fire attack. A second line was deployed to protect the exposure to another storage building only a few feet away. 14 Engine 4 established a second water supply by laying approximately 800' of 5 inch hose in from Mill Street. Three additional hose lines were deployed to support the fire attack from 14 Engine 4. 14 Engine 3 was assigned to the rear of the building to begin extinguishing several boats that were burning that had been stored outside the building. 14C1 called for a second alarm at 17:00 due to concerns about the fire load at the site and weather conditions. The fire was declared under control at 18:03. All mutual aid companies were released by 19:45. Meredith companies remained on scene until 22:39.
Companies from Laconia, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, Holderness, Gilford, New Hampton, Bristol, Belmont, Ashland, and Plymouth assisted at the scene. Sandwich covered the Meredith Downtown station and Ashland also provided a cover truck for the Meredith Center station.
