Belmont crews were notified at 18:47 of a structure fire at 121 Brown Hill Road. Belmont companies arrived on scene to a large 2 and a half story farmhouse with an attached barn. The barn was well involved. The Belmont Chief called for a 3rd alarm which brought 14 Rescue 1 to the scene. The crew from 14 Rescue 1 was put to work assisting with portable pumps to enhance water supply for fire suppression. Falling snow and sub-freezing temperatures created challenging conditions in fighting the fire.
Multiple departments from the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Association and the Capital Area Mutual Fire Aid Compact assisted at the scene. The fire eventually reached a fourth alarm.
Meredith companies were placed in service at 21:39.
